Transit for an interactive presentation about the proposed
Yonge Street subway extension. The preferred alignment, stations
and other details of this project will be discussed.
Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to access
the meeting online through the Viva website at www.vivayork.ca
Date: Thursday, September 25, 2008
Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In Person: Premier Ballroom & Conference Centre, 9019
Leslie Street, Town of Richmond Hill
Online: www.vivayork.ca
Background:
Viva Phase 1 rapid transit runs today in mixed traffic in
four key corridors. VivaNext, the next generation of Viva,
will put the rapid into rapid transit. VivaNext includes the
construction of 70 kilometres of surface rapid transit in
these same corridors, integrated with the extension of the
Yonge and Spadina subway lines north to the Vaughan Corporate
Centre and Richmond Hill Centre.
Over the past several months, meetings and workshops with
the public and stakeholders have provided invaluable feedback
to the ongoing technical evaluation. Residents are encouraged
to come see how this important project is progressing and
have their say.
