Town launches cricket ticket contest
Richmond Hill - If you know cricket well,
you could win a pair of premium tickets for an international
match in Toronto.
The town is holding a Mayors' Cricket Challenge, where 10
residents who correctly answer questions on the sport will
attend the India vs. Pakistan Legends of Cricket Live 2007
Charity Festival and Game March 3 at Rogers Centre.
"I am excited about this challenge because I don't know
a lot about cricket," Mayor Dave Barrow said. "I
hope this challenge will generate a genuine interest for those
who might not yet have discovered it, not to mention how fun
it can be.
"I know cricket is a challenging game. Recognizing this
and learning how to play could be a good way to keep in shape
and spend quality time with your friends and family."
The Legends of Cricket Live Charity Festival and Game is
the largest cricket event in North America. This day-long
match is part of the citywide cricket festival open to everyone,
with proceeds going to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
